The BIG GUY
Great Grandfather visits often!

The days leading up to Christmas were very busy and exciting. Grandma and Grandpa mentioned how Great-Grandpa found an excuse to visit everyday (like he needed an excuse?) I was having a grand time! (Do they call them "grandparents" because you have a "grand" time when you visit them?)

Grandparents can be silly at times like this... great grandparents too! Great Grandpa brought presents to put under the tree on Christmas Eve. Then there were so many presents that Grandpa had to stuff them under Grandma's plant stand and some still spilled over into the front hall! But Great Grandpa didn't wrap that Teddy Bear. He tried to hide it behind my other present. Don't these people realize that I have eyes?

Grandma loves me! She kept raiding my Christmas presents and would give some to me early. I loved the noise makers but I didn't care much for those bibs.

I was having a lot of fun anyway... so much fun that I didn't want to take a nap! That was when Mom and Grandma ganged up on me. I decided it was probably wise to take my nap after all. Besides, I got that Teddy Bear early! (He-hee!)

Uncle Shawn shared the little teddy bear with me. It seems that the little teddy bear was also bought by Great Grandpa... for my Dad when he was small. My Dad gave it to my Uncle Shawn when he was small. Now I have had the pleasure of this little teddy bear's company!

Dinner Time!
Party? And all I get is this bottle?

Grandma and Grandpa entertain friends on Christmas Eve, so that afternoon Grandma was very busy in the kitchen. Mom was busy helping Grandma, so Aunt Sam fed me my dinner. As the food for the evening started to appear on the table, I was getting hungrier and hungrier. It smelled soooo good, too! BUT... they wouldn't let me have any of the real good stuff!

Guests filled the house that Christmas Eve. Grandma and Grandpa said that there were some who couldn't come... good thing! It was crowded. The Christmas tree lights and candles were the only light in the living room (unless Grandpa decided to take a picture.) It was warm and cozy with all the people and the Christmas music playing.

Grandpa's longtime friend, Jon Benjamin, made me laugh. Although he is much bigger than me, he said that he was one foot shorter than me! He is such a silly guy, but I like him. I like running my fingers through his beard too. Unfortunately, his medication would make him sleepy from time to time. The Benjamin's also brought silly Christmas songs for us to listen to!

Grandma and Grandpa said that I would get to meet Julio in January when he returned from Argentina. They said this was the first time he returned to his home country in 25 or 30 years. They got an e-mail from him and he said he was very tanned because it is summer down there. How can it be summer during Christmas???

Well, this was a fun night... but I got tired eventually (Mom was so pleased!) I had no idea what my first Christmas would be like, but I found out that it was good that I got rested up for it.
